How Can We Help?
Pro-160 / 360 Fault Codes
The Pro-160 and Pro-360 have a number of warning messages or error codes that can appear depending on what the controller thinks is happening.
This table lists;
- the code
- any associated sound signal
- whether the code is a warning or indicates a fault
- the text shown on the display
- the behaviour of the controller

Error Description | Behaviour |
| B1 | 2 short | W | Under Voltage | The battery voltage has gone below the Low Voltage cut-off (if set) or 11V (system default). | Start-up – Do not start
Run-time – Ramp down |
| B2 | 2 short | W | Low Battery | The battery voltage has gone below the low voltage alert (if set) or 11.9 (system default). | Depends on profile setting (volt_alert.action) |
| B3 | None | W | High Battery | The battery voltage is above:
60V (Std PRO-160) 90V (HV PRO-160) |
Flash warning message |
| B4 | None | F | Over Voltage | The battery voltage is above:
63V (Std PRO-160) 95V (HV PRO-160) |
Start-up – Do not start
Run-time – Ramp down, resume if cleared |
| L1 | None | W | Logging Error | An error has occurred when writing to the uSD card | Controller continues to run, but logging is disabled. |
| T1 | 1 long | W | High Temp | The controller temperature is over 65C | Flash warning message
Run-time – ramp down to 50% of max speed (if over 50%) |
| T2 | 1 long | F | Over Temp | The controller temperature is over 75C | Start-up – Do not start
Run-time – Ramp down, stop |
| T3 | 1long | W | TX High Temp | The second thermistor temperature is over the warning limit. | Flash warning message
|
| T4 | 1 long | W | TY High Temp | The third thermistor temperature is over the warning limit. | Flash warning message
|
| P1 | Continuous | F | High Pot Lock | High pot lockout.
Indicates the throttle input was not at zero when switched on. Either close the throttle, or increase the lockout setting in the menu. |
Start -up -Flash error message until POT is set to minimum
Run-time -N/A |
| P2 | 3 short | F | Pot Fault | Pot track fault.
Indicates a pot or pot wiring fault. Not usually a controller issue, but see note 1 at end. |
Start-up – Flash error message and switch off
Run-time – Ramp down, stop |
| P3 | 3 short | F | Pot Fault |
Pot wiper fault. The POT input value is higher than the expected range. Usually indicates a worn pot or faulty pot wiring. We recommend; 1] make sure software is 2.4.1 or later. 2]replace the pot. |
Start-up – Flash error message and switch off
Run-time – 2.4.0 & earlier, ramp down & stop. 2.4.1 onwards, ramp down, resume if fault clears. |
| P4 | 3 short | F | RC Fault | The RC signal is not in the expected range of values
See note 2 at end. |
Start-up – Flash error message until signal is in range.
Run-time – Ramp down Restart automatically if ranges return to normal |
| P5 | 3 short | F | Limit switch | Both limit switches are being operated at the same time | Start-up – Flash error message until at least one switch is opened.
Run time – ramp down. |
| P6 | 3 short | F | Volt input | If Vmode chk is enabled, this indicates an input below 0.25V or above 4.75V. Usually caused by a disconnection of the input, or a malfunction of the voltage source. | Start-up – Do not start
Run-time – Ramp down, stop |
| X1 | 2 short | F | Dead Mans Hdl | The Dead Man’s handle is set on | Start-up – Flash error message until set off
Run-time – Ramp down Restart automatically if DMH goes off |
| X2 | 2 short | F | Emerg Stop | Emergency stop signal received | Start-up – Flash error message until set off
Run-time – STOP IMMEDIATELY |
| C1 | None | W | Over Current | Current overload occurring. The current is above the SYSTEM (hardcoded) maximum safe curent.
[Note: whether it is + or – overcurrent is not information required by the user] |
Flash warning message. Special behaviour, emergency stop after 300 milliseconds at this level. |
| C2 | None | W | Current Limit | Current limit. Current is being held to the current limit set for the profile | Flash warning message. |
| K1 | 2 long | F | Park Brake | Parking brake over current | Start-up – Do not start
Run-time – Ramp down, stop |
| Q1-4 | 3 long | F | MOSFET | Mosfet Faults. See note 3 at end. | Start up check |
| S1 | None | W | Speed Limit | Speed limit. Speed (width of signal from speed sensor) is being held to the speed limit set for the profile | Flash warning message. |
| S2 | None | W | Speed Signal | Reading from the speed sensor is not in the expected range of values | Flash warning message |
Notes:
1. P2 Pot fault can also occur if R111 [0 ohms] is blown. This can occur if pin F is accidentally short-circuited to B+. Test for continuity between the * point and pin F. If open circuit, it can be repaired by bridging with a small wire link. In July 2026, on Rev 7 of the control board, R111 was changed to be another fuse track [F2], this makes it easier to test and repair.

2. P4 RC fault can occur if the J1 jumper is missing [just above the RDO port on the control board]. Does not apply to Rev 7 hardware onwards [30-41-07].
3. Qx faults can also be caused by;
- A short circuit between mosfets and the heatsink. Use a multi-meter set to the 200k resistance scale and measure between the heatsink and each of the B+/B-/M+/M- terminals in turn, there should be no discernible continuity. If there is then check that all the black insulating washers are in place on the mosfet mounting screws.
- We have also seen two cases of false positive Q errors that were traced to faulty battery isolator switches which had developed a slightly high resistance across the internal contacts. This was identified by temporarily bypassing the isolator.
- If a radio control receiver or servo is connected that draws too much current, this will affect the 5V supply to the microprocessor, which in turn can give a false positive Q error.
