Double Heading Pro-160 / 360 & 4QD Series

A lot of customers are now seeking to double head [or MU] locos with different models of 4QD controller, and a common request is how to link a new Pro-160 / 360 to an older 4QD-200 / 300.

The 4QD-200 [and in fact all our controllers] can operate in “voltage control” mode [see the manual for details].
In short this means…
1] Fitting a 10k resistor across pins D & F of the 4QD-200 6 way connector [to lift the “pot fault detect” circuit]
2] Link the blue pot wiper wire from the Pro-160 across to pin E of the 4QD-200 6 way connector.
3] Link the reverse wire from the Pro-160 across to pin C of the 4QD-200 6 way connector.
4] Link the negative terminals of both batteries.
5] Adjust the gain control of the 4QD-200 as required.
