One question that often comes up is how to best arrange the motor noise suppression components on locos that have multiple motors driven from a single controller and spread across two or more bogies. There are many ways to do this, and it really depends upon the room available and what fits neatly in the installation, but this diagram shows some possibilities.
Key points to bear in mind are
- Twist the motor wires together wherever possible.
- Fit the motor capacitors as close to the motor as possible
- One pass through each ferrite is ok, two passes [one turn] is better.
