Multi speed control

We’ve been asked for a way to switch a motor between a number of pre-set speeds [ multi speed control ]. Here’s a simple little circuit that we put together for the 4QD range but it will work with any of our models. This version is designed for three speeds, but can be extended by adding more pots and switches.

The gain control on the controller will need to be adjusted appropriately to give full speed.
