A new version of 3D secure authentication has been implemented by the UK/EU banking system in October 2022, and whilst it it being implemented, more customer transactions are failing the checks.
If you’re having trouble with your payment, it may be due to 3D Secure authentication failure or a 3D Secure error. 3D Secure is a layer of security that your bank requires where you’ll have to enter a password or SMS code to authorise payment. Sometimes there are problems with 3D Secure that can cause debit and credit card payments to fail.
If you repeatedly have problems making payments on online websites, then you should check your identity authentication settings with your bank.
Payments may also fail for the standard reasons, wrong card details entered, insufficient funds, or for international customers a block on overseas online purchases. If you are sure that you have entered your card details correctly, then please contact your bank to resolve the issue.
