Choosing the appropriate ring size starts with having the right motor cable size. The motor cable should be selected to carry the nominal maximum current that the motor is expected to draw. For example, a 750W motor running on 24V will have a nominal maximum of 750 / 24 = 31A.
We have three sizes of ferrite ring available.
Small – 10mm I/D, suitable for 2 turns of power cable up to 6mm CSA [cross sectional area], which is rated for 53A. Typically fit 2 of this size to a single motor up to 750W [1 per wire]. Dimensions: 10mm length, 18.5mm E/D. This size is usually used for DNO and Pro-160-S based projects.
Medium – 12mm I/D, suitable for 2 turns of power cable up to 10mm CSA, which is rated for 75A. Typically fit 2 of this size to a single motor up to 1500W. Dimensions: 14mm length, 23.5mm E/D. This size is usually used for Pro-160-HC projects, can also be used on Pro-360-S projects with multiple motors.
Large – 15mm I/D, suitable for a single pass through of power cable up to 50mm CSA, which is rated for 250A. Typically fit 2 of this size to motors over 3000W. This size is usually used for Pro-360 based projects with larger cable sizes.
