Two level charging

We charge for service to controllers on a 2 level basis. This page details the charges and the conditions that apply.

1. Minor or no fault
   If the item returned is not faulty, or the fault is very minor, then only a handling and test charge is made. This is the 'Handling' charge in column 3 below.
2. Full Service
   If the item returned needs a full service and is economically repairable, then we will charge a standard 'Service' charge - Column 4. Note that this service charge does not include any parts used, which may, at our discretion, be charged extra.

Carriage

The service charges do not include return carriage which may be charged extra, at cost.

Part Exchange Option

You may prefer a replacement rather than have the old item repaired. In this case, we can usually allow a discount against a new controller. Please contact sales.

Conditions

• This charging scale applies only to equipment returned to 4QD, carriage paid. It does not apply to service via dealers.
• The appropriate payment must be included with the returned item.
• The item must be returned as directed on our Service Index page - Returning equipment
• The controller issue must be sufficiently recent that service is still available. Details are in the service section Modification Histories.
• The controller has in no way been tampered with, repaired by non-approved or inexpert persons or modified in any way from the condition in which it was supplied.

Payment methods

1. Credit Card
   It is probably easiest for you to include details of your credit card for us to collect payment.
2. Open cheque
   You may include an open cheque with your returned controller. Either do not enter the amount to be paid, or limit the amount payable so we can collect the appropriate fee.
3. Other methods
   Other payment methods are acceptable, see Ordering and general terms of trading. However - if you over-pay, no refunds can be given. Other methods are therefore acceptable if you opt for part exchange, but if you send the full service charge, then, if the item is faulty or not, that will be charged as payment. Clearly - if the item is not repairable - you will be informed.

All prices quoted here are in UK Pounds (Sterling). Prices are subject to change at any time.

Notes

• Charges are generally for controller returned as a bare circuit board. Extra charge may be made for boxed controllers, e.g. Pro, Uni. We regret we cannot test customer's extra wiring and this should not be returned.
• #1: obsolete product, replacement not available. You may be eligible for a discount on a different model.
• #2: Standard service charge does not include replacement of boards. If this is required, additional prices are as shown, #3
• #3: these prices are for replacement boards.
