A number of our customers have used our controllers to power children's scale model cars. We have seen scale models of Citroen 2CV, Rolls Royces, Landrovers and a whole lot more, and very successful they are too. But such machines are quite expensive to build, and although the finished model raises lots of interest so that often the builder considers making more and selling them, rarely does he manage to sell more than one or two - so they are usually a labour of love.

Stuart Bridewell (current email address unknown - 4th November 2004) built this splendid model for his 3 year old: that's her in the first pic. Hidden under these thumbnails are bigger pictures: the right one is 434K!
This must have taken Stuart many hours. He's not looking for business, but might be tempted by a large enough offer!
He used our NCC-35-24 (now called VTX) to drive it.

We have had plenty of ordinary photos of these machines, but few have satisfactorily translated into GIFs. So we were delighted to receive these pictures from a customer, Michael Mack

We quote his description
I finished the kiddie-car I have been building for the past 9 months and thought that you might like a photo of it.Your controller is everything you claimed it to be and well worth the money. The car I built is a 1:2.5 scale of a WW11 jeep.
The system is 24V, with two 180W 12V motors in series. The batteries are 2x12V 17Ah valve-regulated lead acid batteries. The kids can drive around for 2-3 hours on one charge.
I have used a 7.5k linear pot for speed control and added a 10k resistor, connected to the wiper and switched across either side of the pot. This way I can get 3 maximum speeds. These are 0-3kph, 0-5kph and 0-8kph, which I can set depending on the age/experience of the child.
Michael used our NCC-70 controller (now called VTX) with a 24v system.
I'll bet he's got very happy children!
